Registered Nurse Practitioner
Laura Popelar, RN, MS, CNRN, CNP, MSCN is an experienced neurology nurse practitioner. She became a certified neuroscience registered nurse in 1994 and a certified nurse practitioner in 1997. She joined OhioHealth Neurological Physicians in 1999, where she sees a wide range of patients with neurological disorders. Laura has a special interest in multiple sclerosis and became a multiple sclerosis certified nurse in 2007.
A native of central Ohio, Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science from The Ohio State University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses, and the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.
Laura volunteers time for the local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and has been a presenter at many of its programs. In 2007 she was honored to be presented with the Isroff Volunteer of the Year Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter. She has also been active in the education of nurse practitioner students at The Ohio State University, both in the classroom and clinical setting.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, hiking and vacationing with her family in San Antonio, Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
